Room Refurbished, and it's looking fabulous

Stylish Room with Super King bed

 

Well, it's taken a little longer than we'd planned, but our large double room is now fully refurbished.









We're delighted how it's turned out, hope you agree.



 The room's been completely redecorated in a grey and purple scheme, it looks fresh and clean with a nice twist of colour. We love the brick effect feature wall behind the bed, it looks stunning with some of our original art work on it, the clematis flowers are photos of flowers from the garden processes through Photoshop to look like pencil art and the view above the bed was taken across Loch Ness from at the bottom of our drive.

There's a new carpet and new blackout curtains, great for those early morning sunrises in the summer months.


Lovely, spacious en suite with brand new larger shower.
The en suite has a brand new, much larger shower and all the fixtures and fittings in the bathroom have been replaced. There's a brand new soap dispenser in the shower with lovely Highland Soaps products, Rosemary & Wild Nettle Shampoo and Wild Nettle And Heather body wash.

There's a large mirror above the sink with built in LED lights and a really nice adjustable shaving mirror. We've even installed a nice new towel holder.

We stayed in this refurbished room in June 2017, and it's luxurious and so comfortable. After a long drive the day we arrived, it was so welcoming and heavenly. Would visit again in a heartbeat!

Water Recycling Project: The Piping Begins

Things are finally starting to take shape with this project. As you can see below I've installed the pipe outlet into tank 2 from which the water will overflow back into the main drain pipe. I've also connected a copper pipe to the bottom of tank 1, this is where the water will be fed to the pump and then on to the outside tap. Bit of a challenge this one as I've only ever worked with copper piping once before and that was under instruction from my friend Michael, who's a dab-hand at this plumbing lark. I was especially please as I managed to bend the 22mm copper pipe to the shape I needed (using a spring) and also solder the two lengths together to reach the pump. It's also connected to the bottom of the tank. Don't know if all these joints ae water-proof mind you!!! And finally today I've connected the two tanks together, well almost. I've cut the holes in the tanks and have the joining pipe, but I need to tank connectors which I've ord

Everyone Is Eating Other Peoples Dinner`

First the Pine Marten discovered the feeder intended for the red squirrels (see previous post) and he's now a regular visitor (if you're booked to stay with us in the next couple of weeks be sure to ask if you'd like to see him). Now the red squirrels have decided to move on to the peanut feeder intended for the birds. It's not that the pine marten have scared the red squirrels off their feeder, they're on it every day as well and we keep it topped up, it's just that some squirrels seem to relish the challenge of hanging upside down trying to pull peanuts out through the wire. Who Ate All The Peanuts

It's strange, lately the peanuts in the squirrel feeder in the garden have been disappearing really quickly recently. Then a couple of days ago I noticed this... That's a fat looking squirrel Looks like a bit of a fat squirrel. Of course it's not, we've found the culprit. A pine marten has discovered the feeder and been helping himself to all the nuts.
